Issue 1, Spring:I imagined the magazine starting around the time I started making this project, so spring would be a seasonally appropriate first issue as it would be available surrounded by similarly themed Easter things.
Making this one first meant that there's a lot more development of certain pages while I figured out how to design a page layout. |
Issue 2, Space:I chose space for the second issue as it is very different from spring, so would hopefully draw in kids who weren't interested in the last theme.
This magazine as a whole is gender neutral and I avoided activities that would be considered 'male' or 'female', however, the colour scheme of the space issue does have a more traditionally masculine colour scheme compared to the more feminine spring issue. |
